The gospel and growing older

I don't know about you, but I often fall into a way of thinking that believes that the older I get, the more complicated life becomes. And as life becomes more complicated, so does the gospel and the Christian faith.
But the truth is that, while life does become more complicated, while we do gain more experiences--many of them difficult ones, accumulating more stress, often feeling much heavier, the truth of the gospel of the grace of God does not change at all. Likewise, the fundamental responsibility of the believing Christian doesn't change either: obey the Lord, flee sin. My duty and life as a Christian is no different than it was when I was five years old. It is so refreshing when He reminds me how simple things are.
